(PressFire.no): Ubisoft and developer Unfrozen Studio have announced that a new game in “Heroes of Might and Magic” is on the way, ten years after the previous game came out.
The game is called “Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era”, and it goes back to the roots of the classic strategy game series.
So the series has clearly turned back from the new name “Might and Magic Heroes”, which the series was suddenly named after game number five.
There are six different factions to choose from in the game:
- Temple (people)
- Necropolis (undead and vampires)
- sylvan (nature)
- Dungeon (dark elves and underground creatures)
- hive (insects)
- An unknown yet to be revealed
The game gets three modes – a classic one where you can have many heroes and play like in the previous games, a “single hero mode” where you are only allowed to have one hero and the game over if this hero dies, and the area where you set up teams and fight.
Like previous games, there’s a huge world to walk around to collect resources, cities to upgrade and produce units – and a hexagonal grid to fight on.
The game will be released in early access on Steam, but there is no clear date yet.
