It was the atmosphere of big evenings for the Hormadi supporters, this Friday, at the Bar. Indeed, the Angloys welcomed the Bordeaux Boxers for the first regional derby of the season. From the first moments, the sticks heat up and the men of captain Nicolas Arrossamena put good pressure on their opponents, forced to return the puck and expose themselves to dangerous situations in front of the goal. The attackers Puffer and Kazarine sniff out the shots in the center of the field by intercepting the passes but the Bordeaux goalkeeper Papillon is very attentive. A few minutes from the end of the first third, it was the Boxers who slightly reversed the pressure but Saint-Cyr also responded well. Apart from a penalty on each side (Kazarine and Polodyan), tactics seem to have taken precedence over the physical aspect in a pleasant encounter.
The second third starts again on the same basis with a fairly locked configuration which filters the opportunities well. Despite this, Reinhardt and Puffer stand out. For many minutes, the Boxers camp was besieged, without success. Six minutes from the end of the second third, the visitors broke free from the stranglehold and worried the vigilant Saint-Cyr. At this precise moment, the goalkeepers each total between 19 and 20 saves. Attacks lack structure, so often two teams sweep the field at high speed to gain possession of the coveted puck.
Polodyan, the executioner
In the 40th, the Boxers will have a huge opportunity through Valtonen, before Kazarine responds but comes up against the vigilance of Papillon. The first fights appear. From the start of the last third, a former Hormadi player, the inevitable Polodyan, assisted by Matoma and Valtonen, opened the scoring (0-1, 41st). A few minutes later, Puffer, assisted by Getson equalized. There are seven minutes left when Hormadi takes the advantage thanks to Kazarine. The spectators exult, believing that victory is finally within reach with the first points at home. During the week, assistant coach Cyr was not mistaken, this match was not like the others.
On the scoreboard, there are only 17 seconds left to play. Polodyan, assisted by Valtonen and Poudrier, does it again and brings the Boxers back to level terms (2-2, 59th). It’s time for overtime. The two teams face each other for five minutes three against three. Here again, the opportunities follow one another without anyone being able to decide between them. The dreaded moment, that of the penalties, has arrived. The Bordeaux Carry misses his face to face just like Reinhardt. Thiessen and Polodyan will not do better. The failures against the two goalkeepers follow one another and the suspense is unbearable. Alas, Polodyan, again, rushes last and scores the fatal shot on goal for the great efforts of the locals.
