KOMPAS.com – Spectators who will come to the Indonesia Arena, Senayan, Jakarta, for the FIBA World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony will be presented with interesting entertainment, Friday (25/8/2023).
The FIBA World Cup 2023 will take place from Friday 25 August in Indonesia. Two exciting matches from Group H will immediately open in the Indonesia Arena. Latvia will try out the dark horses of Lebanon, followed by the bigmatch duel between Canada and France.
Apart from receiving entertainment from these two world-class matches, the audience who will come to the Indonesia Arena on Friday will also be presented with interesting entertainment.
Indonesia’s top singer, Agnez Mo, will fill in this series of opening events. Agnez will perform two of her songs in collaboration with top US singers, namely “Coke Bottle” and “Get Loose”.

Coke Bottle was sung by Agnez featuring Timbaland and was released in 2014. At that time, the song won the title as ‘Song of Summer’ on MTV Iggy.
Meanwhile, “Get Loose” is working with Ciara, a singer who is also quite famous in the US.
This single was launched on June 30, 2023. When performing the two songs at the opening ceremony later, Agnez will be accompanied by eight dancers.
FIBA World Cup 2023 Local Committee (LOC) Chairman, Budisatrio Djiwandono, said that Agnez’s choice was not without reason. This 37-year-old woman is one of the few Indonesians whose work has gone global.
“Agnez was one of those who made Indonesia known on the world stage through the entertainment channel. So, for that reason, we chose Agnez to be one of the performers at the opening ceremony,” said Budi.

In addition, the figure of Agnez is also considered the most suitable for the concept of the opening ceremony which carries global and local themes. Agnez represents the global side, while for local, there will be Gamaliel Audrey Cantika (GAC).
The vocal group, which also carries many hip-hop, rap and R&B genres, will perform songs from various regions in Indonesia, accompanying 60 traditional dancers who will perform.
The song “Ratoh Jaroe” sung by GAC will be accompanied by the same dance. Then, the song “Sinanggar Tulo” accompanies Tortor’s dance. Followed by “Jali-Jali” for Betawi dance and finally “Rek Ayo Rek” accompanying East Java regional dances.
“So, there will be a mix of entertainment with local nuances typical of Indonesia and the world. Apart from that, our two ambassadors, Raffi Ahmad and Cinta Laura will attend. There will also be a flag parade procession for the participants of the 2023 FIBA World Cup competing in Indonesia,” explained Budi.
Because the opening ceremony will start at 19.15 WIB, Budi reminded ticket holders for the second game Canada vs France, which tip-off at 20.30 WIB, to attend earlier.
This is because the opening ceremony will be attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, so that the audience must come and enter the Indonesia Arena at 18.30 WIB.

“This is to anticipate the closure of access during the opening ceremony by Palace security as well as the mobility of spectators leaving the stadium in the first game,” said Budi.
“So, I appeal to the audience of the second game to come sooner to witness the lively opening ceremony together,” said Budi.
For spectators who arrived past the appointed hour, Budi asked them to wait outside until the opening ceremony was over.
Access to the stadium will be reopened to watch the second game after the opening ceremony ends and or the President leaves the arena.
