The Puppet Festival, family theater, Music Week, Christmas concerts and performances by local groups star in the new programming

During the months of November and December the Ideal theater will raise the curtain on its stage twenty times. For these next two months he proposes plays, concerts, magic, galas, and puppets.
“We have developed a very varied program with quality shows for all ages and all tastes,” highlights the Councilor for Culture, Isabel Sáenz, who adds “with productions of different genres so that all audiences come and enjoy the theater.”
The Calagurritan theater group “The Shin” will inaugurate the new Ideal programming on Friday, November 3, with its latest work “Easterly winds”. A story with a bittersweet flavor, in which drama and comedy interweave and flow with endearing and empathetic naturalness, like life itself.
On Saturday, November 4, magic will return to the Calagurritan theater with the visual and interactive mentalism show “Lunatic and mental” aimed at all audiences.
He Calahorra Bullfighting Club will celebrate his Gala in which the bullfighting trophies will be presented on Sunday, November 5.
The following weekend the Ideal will host two plays. On Saturday, November 11, the Calahorra theater group “Return” will represent “Lázaro: is the innocent guilty?” and on Sunday, November 12, the Rioja theater company “Zarándula” brings us the work of family and adult theater “Boba Soup”.
Starting November 17, music will be the protagonist of the theater’s programming. The Municipal Music Band will offer a concert on the same Friday, November 17, prior to the celebration of Music Week by the “Santa Cecilia” association.
Thus, on Saturday, November 18, the Cuchuflete Choir of Arnedo and on Sunday, November 19, With Ocksthe group from Rioja, will present, among other songs, their first single “Electric Fantasy”.
He Equinox concert with the musicians Carlos Arriezu and Jesús Carbonell on Saturday, November 25, will close the commemorative events for Santa Cecilia, but the music will continue playing in the theater.
On Sunday, November 26, the musical youth orchestra will offer a concert with Calagurritan soprano Marta Jiménez and on Friday, December 1, the Calagurritan Orpheus “Pedro Gutierrez” will share the stage with “Sleeping City” group to perform various musical themes together.
He Calahorra Sports Club will close the celebration of its centenary with a gala on Saturday, December 2, and the little ones will be able to enjoy another work by family theater “The Petrina Witch” on Sunday, December 3.
José Ibáñez from Calagurrita will present his third book titled “Calagurritan commerce and industry through festival programs (1919-1969)” on Saturday, December 16.
Three Christmas concerts will take place close to Christmas. The first of them will be that of the Calahorra Conservatory band on Wednesday, December 20, at 6:30 p.m. and that same day at 8:15 p.m. the orchestra of the Calahorra Conservatory.
The Calahorra Municipal Music Band will offer its traditional Christmas concert on Friday, December 22.
He XXXIII Puppet Festival will end the Ideal programming for 2023. There will be three functions: “Isabela’s Journey”, “Mermehalda” y “The wonderful lamp” on December 28, 29 and 30, respectively.
Ticketing
At 12 noon on Thursday, October 26, tickets for these new shows will go on sale. They can be purchased at the Ideal theater box office and online on the website. www.citylok.com/teatroideal.
This same day, at 11:30 a.m., the ticket office will open for the sale of the ticket for the Puppet Festival.
The box office will open from 12 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 26; on November 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; and on December 7, 14, 21 and 28, as well as every day that there is a performance two hours before it begins.
Discounts
Prices vary depending on the shows and the location of the ticket at the Ideal but the discounts remain the same.
The youth ticket for those under 30 years of age is 4 euros in the 2nd amphitheater of the theater and those over 60 years of age and those who present the youth card have a 20% discount.
Unemployed people with a credit card have a 50% discount.
But there is also an offer of four tickets for the price of three for the family theater plays on November 12 and December 3 and a 35% discount on the subscription for all performances of the Puppet Festival.
The discounts and bonuses are not cumulative and are applicable exclusively to functions organized by the Calahorra City Council.
People in wheelchairs will be able to access the theater seats at the cheapest general price of the show (maximum 2 tickets for each person with a disability) and will be able to purchase their tickets both at the box office and online.
