Exciting Haitian Selection Draws 1-1 with Suriname in Nations League

This Thursday, the Haitian selection began its home stretch in the Nations League on the lawn of Suriname. And after a very rhythmic meeting, the two teams separated with a score of 1 to 1.

Despite numerous absences, Gabriel Calderón Pellegrino put together an attack that looked great. In fact, the Grenadiers were the most enterprising at the start of the match, but after a miss from Fafa Picault in the opposing six meters, the Surinamese opened the scoring with a nice breakthrough from Ridgeciano Haps in the 17th minute. Despite some dangerous actions, the Haitian players were unable to equalize in the first half.

Upon returning from the locker room, things changed because in the 51st minute of play, Mikaël Cantave deceived the Surinamese goalkeeper to finally allow the Grenadiers to restore the status quo. Unfortunately nothing more will be scored in this meeting, the Mexican referee whistled the end of the match with this score of 1 to 1 which does not help either of the two selections.

With a third draw in as many matches, Haiti is fourth in Group B with 3 points, which reduces its chances of qualification to a real miracle. Suriname is 5th with one point less.
