Saturday April 20, 2024, near the Muides fire station, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Young Firefighters (JSP) from Muides-sur-Loire, Mer and Saint-Laurent-Nouan practiced the movements they will present on May 25 during the fire and first aid competition of the Regional Technical Rally (RTD) at the Muides-sur-Loire stadium.
Armed with blades and listening to the orders issued, these young people in the 3rd year carried out a fire intervention exercise with 2 water blades and 2 attack points. Indeed, a in addition to the sports events, this exercise is part of one of the three RTD events, which are the pipe movement, the movement related to team first aid techniques and a quiz.
The aim is to get a good standard to participate in the JSP National Technical Summit which takes place every 2 years and which, this year, takes place in Angers on the weekend of 6 July . According to Christophe Boyer, department manager in charge of JSP, out of 2,000 firefighters in Loir-et-Cher, only 200 are professionals. It is therefore important to train young firefighters who will become volunteer firefighters.
At the same time, a half-day “open day” was organized to recruit young people who love sports and team spirit and to inform them and their parents about the 4 years of Junior Firefighter training. About ten children came to find out and maybe they will participate in the recruitment tests that will be held on June 8. The president of the JSP, Didier Murat, will retire on April 25 after 37 years of service and will leave Karl Lemaire in charge of these young people.
Young people born between 2010 and 2012 who want to become young firefighters from September 2024 can send their application with a cover letter to karl.lemaire@sdis41.fr or nini.bessac@orange.fr
See you on May 25, from 8:30 am, for the Regional Technical Summit at the Muides-sur-Loire stadium.
