Zoo open during Easter
The “Easter hustle and bustle” begins on Good Friday on the square in front of the zoo, which is offered until Monday. Birkner’s party service, Walther’s waffle bakery as well as a children’s railway and a raffle booth are on site during the zoo’s opening hours. The park is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on all four days. You can watch the penguins being fed at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Icker Passion by Michael Schmoll in the Lutheran Church
As the musical highlight of this year’s Passiontide season in the Limbach-Penig parish region, Michael Schmoll’s Icker Passion will be heard on Good Friday this year in the Oberfrohna Lutheran Church. Start is at 2 p.m.
“Schlager & Fun with Andy Borg and friends”
On Easter Sunday from 4 p.m. in the Stadthalle the motto is “Schlager & Fun with Andy Borg and friends”. After the “Schlagerparade der Volksmusik”, the “Musikantenstadl” and the “Stadlzeit”, this is the entertainer’s newest form of show.
Peasant Museum opens
Also on Sunday, the farmer’s museum in Dürrengerbisdorf will open its doors for the first time this year. From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., owner Bernd Aurch invites you to rummage around in the past of life in the country.
Guided tours in St. Anne’s Treasure Trove
On Easter Monday, the members of the AG Altbergbau Wolkenburg start their new season. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there is the opportunity to take a closer look at the Saint Anne treasure trove as part of an hourly guided tour. Sturdy, non-sensitive shoes are recommended. The helmets will be provided.
Esche Museum open on weekends
The Esche Museum is open Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this time you can see many historic machines running. On Easter Monday it is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the permanent exhibition on the history of the city, the special show “Scenes of everyday life – the elementary school teacher Hellmuth Vogel and the work of his students” can be seen. You can be amazed at what has changed in the everyday life of children and young people compared to 90 years ago.
New paintings by the von Einsiedel family
Cloud Castle high above the Mulde is also always a great Easter excursion. When the weather is good, you can marvel at the cast iron figures in the castle park. In the castle itself there are new paintings by the von Einsiedel family that have never been shown before. The museum is open every day except Monday from 2pm to 5pm.
