Sabitzer, who had only scored for Dortmund in the cup against Schott Mainz, was there in stoppage time in the first half and scored the 1-2 from Dortmund’s point of view (45th + 1). Omar Marmoush had previously put Eintracht in the lead at home in Deutsche Bank Park – where the National Football League will be playing in the next two weeks – with a brace (8th/penalty, 24th).
Shortly after the break, Youssoufa Moukoko even managed to equalize for the guests from Dortmund for the first time (54th), but Fares Chaibi shot Frankfurt back in front less than fifteen minutes later. In the end, substitute Julian Brandt, who became the match winner in the 1-0 win against Werder Bremen, saved Sabitzer and Co. a point (82nd).
With the third draw in six wins, Borussia Dortmund remained close to the top of the table. Eintracht Frankfurt had to accept a loss of points again after two wins in a row, but is still within striking distance of the European Cup places in the table.
