Exciting draw between América and Necaxa

Toluca, State of Mexico.- Águilas del América’s team opened their participation in the 2022 Sky Cup with a thrilling three-goal draw against Necaxa, leaving several important moments in their debut for both teams.

The duel in which the two clubs came out with an experienced starting eleven mixed with youngsters, important for their emotions, having the opening on the scoreboard in the 24th minute with Facundo Batista in favor of Rayos.

In the 34th minute another blue-cream oversight would leave only Pablo Segovia to widen the score in favor of Necaxa, however a mistake in the hydrocálidos’ defensive saga would leave Brian Rodríguez the chance to bring América closer in the 37th minute.

América would continue to attack and in the 40th minute they equalized with a well-taken penalty from Jonathan Rodríguez, having Roger Martínez’s wonderful goal in the second half, giving the Águilas the lead for the first time in the game.

Despite the heavy blow for Necaxa, Andres Lillini’s team continued to fight and managed to equalize in the 66th minute, a penalty would come in favor of Rayos which would end up scoring Milton Jiménez who would end the duel with a three-way draw points.
