Despite the fact that the authorities have implemented different strategies to motivate and bring vaccines against Covid-19 to the population, and the integration of personalities, companies and institutions to promotional campaigns, the enthusiasm for inoculating with the missing population to be immunized against Covid-19.
In the last six days, 119,388 new doses of vaccines against the virus were placed, going from 11,189,420 of doses placed to a total of 11,308,808, according to preliminary data until last Monday, August 6.
In the first dose during that six-day period, 37,733 new doses were placed; in second or complete scheme 38,238 new doses and in third or booster 49,417 new doses.

The country’s initial goal was to vaccinate 7.5 million people over 18 years of age with a complete two-dose schedule and so far 4,710,022 people have completed it, with some 2.8 million adults pending to complete the immunization schedule against the virus.
As of September 1, the Dominican Republic had received close to 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines from four different laboratories, including CovidShield, Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer. The country began the vaccination process on February 16.
Strategic points
Visits to vaccination centers have been declining, despite the fact that the Health Cabinet and the Ministry of Public Health have been bringing free doses to the population with house-to-house visits in communities and placing fixed inoculation centers at different points strategic, including shopping malls.

Personalities, institutions, companies and different organizations have also been added to the motivational campaigns to ensure that the country can complete the immunization of more than 70% of its population.
Donation
Until last September 1, the country had received 19,855,400 million doses, of which 4,436,830 arrived during the month of August and the first day of September. As of July 30, he had received 15,418,570 million doses.
This Monday, the Dominican government began donating more than half a million doses of coronavirus vaccines to several Central American and Caribbean countries that had requested them, as a contribution to protect their population and promote vaccination plans. The requests received so far are as follows: one hundred thousand doses for Haiti, one hundred and one thousand doses for Honduras, and three hundred and four thousand doses for Guatemala.
Vaccinated population
Until last August 30, the country had around 55.8% of the population over 18 years of age vaccinated with two doses of vaccines against the virus and 67.7% with the first dose.
Until September 6, preliminary data from the VacunateRD portal indicate that 11, 308,808 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have been applied since last February to date, of which 5, 864,778 correspond to the first dose; 4,710,022 people have completed the two doses and 734,008 have received the booster dose or third dose.
The goal of 70% of the vaccinated population was reached by the National District, La Altagracia province and Pedernales, followed by Espaillat, Puerto Plata and San Pedro de Macorís with 66.8%; 64.7%; 61.1% and 60.1%, respectively.
The provinces that lag behind in the percentages of vaccinated population are San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, Elías Piña, La Vega, Santo Domingo and Duarte.
