The next world championship in hockey is already slowly knocking on the door, it starts in 36 days on May 12. For the first time since 2018, they will be playing in two halls with a capacity of over 10,000 seats. In the Riga arena in Latvia and in the modern new Nokia arena in Tampere, Finland.

The Slovaks will play the basic group in the Riga arena, which already hosted the World Hockey Championship in 2006 and also in the covid year of 2021. Slovak fans may also know it well from the days when Slovan Bratislava played outside the Slovak league, as they played in this hall several times with the home team Dynamo . It was built for the World Cup 2006 and can hold almost 11,000 spectators at hockey matches.
However, the entire championship will culminate in the extremely modern and unique Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland. The championship ended here a year ago. It was opened in 2021, it can accommodate 13,455 spectators for hockey matches.
The unmissable gigantic cube above the ice surface weighs 13,000 kilograms and is the size of a two-story family house. As for the visual effects, the entire ice surface is bordered by guardrails with built-in LED panels, it can offer a really great show there. It works really great and meets all the strictest criteria. Just visiting it can be an experience for fans. The complex also includes business premises, a hotel and even a casino.
