This is what the Federal Police say:
Last Thursday, a traveler reported to the federal police that a man had just offered him drugs at Uelzen train station and demanded money from him in a “rude” manner. When the police approached the alleged drug dealer, he behaved very aggressively and insulted a female officer. He tried to evade further control by fleeing on a BMX bike, but the officers stopped him. His aggression then turned into confused, hectic activity. In order to hand the officers his ID card, he bent down and took it out of a container. With the ID card in his hand, he jumped up again, overlooked a bicycle stand and hit his head on the metal structure. This caused him to suffer a laceration. Instead of getting help from the federal police officers, he behaved extremely aggressively again. He sprayed the officers with blood, spat and insulted the female police officers involved, particularly violently. The federal officers did not let this happen and overpowered the man. Despite an attempted headbutt and further threats against the officers, he found himself in handcuffs. Medical treatment for his head injury was finally possible, and the injury was finally assessed in hospital. Eventually, the man had calmed down enough to be released from there.
However, the case was not without consequences for the 35-year-old. Investigations were initiated for assault on police officers, insults, threats and bodily harm, and Deutsche Bahn issued a ban on entering Uelzen train station. No drugs were found on him. Since the man had already behaved inappropriately the night before, the Uelzen police issued a 24-hour ban on the entire city area.

On Friday, a DB employee reported to federal police officers deployed at Uelzen station that a man was in the station with a knife in his hand. The officers quickly caught the 76-year-old man and, after a clear speech, persuaded him to put down the knife. The folding knife, which was 23 cm long, was confiscated and the man was searched for other dangerous objects. The police led the man, who is known to the authorities, out of the station and ordered him to leave the area. Since he was in the station despite being banned from the station, he faces not only the loss of his knife and a misdemeanor charge, but also an investigation for trespassing.
