Inhabitant Arab Saudi startled by the appearance tornado giant-sized sand that hit the Taif area and left devastation in its wake. A number of vehicles belonging to local residents were badly damaged by the tornado.
As reported Al Arabiya NewsTuesday (14/3/2023), a number of videos circulating on social media show the moment when the tornado moved across the field, devouring rocks in its path and sending lots of dust into the air.
Several other videos show debris strewn on the streets after the tornado hit, with several vehicles belonging to residents suffering severe damage or even being crushed.
“Unbelievable footage shows a tornado lashing a rural area near Taif, Saudi Arabia, as violent weather disturbances from the west trigger havoc,” tweeted Mir Bilal.
Weather disturbances from the west refer to extratropical storms in Saudi territory.
The Saudi National Meteorological Center has issued a weather alert since Sunday (12/3) local time, warning about thunderstorm with varying intensities that are expected to hit most of the Saudi region this week.
According to the warning, heavy rain and storms colored by sandstorms with strong winds reaching speeds of 50 kilometers per hour, even hail and flash floods, will hit a number of Saudi provinces this week.
In its warning, the Saudi National Meteorological Center also mentioned the potential for heavy rains which would reduce visibility.
Local residents are advised to always look for the latest information about the latest weather through communication services and media channels while complying with the instructions of the relevant authorities.
