Narodowy Bank Polski introduces a novelty – it will be possible to exchange banknotes by post or courier.

Until now, used banknotes could only be exchanged at bank vaults. As NBP assures, all this is simply to make life easier for customers.

To exchange cash in this way, simply send it to the Head Office of the National Bank of Poland – to the following address: ul. Świętokrzyska 11/21 00-919 Warsaw. A completed form should also be attached to the banknotes.

However, the bank reminds you of the limit – the value of the sent banknotes may not exceed the amount of PLN 2,000. PLN.

Which banknotes can be exchanged? The banknote can be replaced if more than 45 percent. the original surface is preserved in one piece and it is possible to recognize the value.

A banknote that retained between 45 and 75 percent. of the original surface will be replaced for half of its face value.
–
A banknote that retained over 75 percent. surface, as well as a broken or stained banknote will be replaced by the bank for its full face value.
