Libreville, January 20, 2024 (AGP) – The President of the Transition, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, met on Friday, January 19 in Dakar, Senegal, with his counterpart from Liberia Joseph Boakai, on the possibility of strengthen bilateral relations between their two countries, reports a press release from the presidency received by the AGP.
“These moments of friendly exchanges between the two heads of state were focused, essentially, on strengthening economic and security cooperation, among other sectors,” the press release said.
Despite their membership in the ZLECAF, the two countries are considering other ways of strengthening their cooperation.
“The two leaders, whose countries have ratified the Continental and African Free Trade Area (ZLECAF) agreement, intend to explore other mutually beneficial cooperation opportunities,” the statement added.
Bilateral relations between Gabon and Liberia are excellent. The two countries intend to strengthen them, particularly in the economic field.
