During the past period, the recorded above-normal temperatures created conditions for the resumption of vegetation for autumn crops and disrupted the forced dormancy of early-flowering fruit species – almond, apricot, peach – in many places in the Polish regions of the country.
And during the next seven-day period, the agrometeorological conditions will be determined by temperatures above the climatic norms. Their average day-night values will exceed the biological minimum necessary for the vegetation processes in winter cereal crops. With wheat and barley, the third leaf phase will take place en masse. In places in the Danube plain and in the southern regions of the country, a twinning phase will be observed.
The predicted rainfall in the second half of the period will maintain high levels of moisture reserves in the one-meter soil layer. More suitable conditions for carrying out the seasonal agrotechnical activities will be available during the first days of the period: pruning and winter plant protection spraying with copper-containing fungicides in fruit trees; feeding of cereal crops with nitrogen mineral fertilizers; examination of the crops for the presence and harmful activity of some pests – common vole and common wheat runner.
