For the next six years, Viaplay will broadcast the Premier League. During Wednesday’s presentation in Oslo, reporter Jan Åge Fjørtoft announced that the channel will present a separate film about the transition saga around Erling Braut Haaland (21).

After showing a small clip of the documentary Viaplay has been working on since February, Fjørtoft spoke on stage in Oslo and told about the conversations with Erling Braut Haaland and dad Alfie Haaland.
He visited them in Germany for the first time in February with photographer Martha Nag.
– We have worked very well with them. We tease ourselves slowly. This is the light version of goosebumps. We have followed the process. We have had an exceptionally good supply, says Fjørtoft.
In the clip VG and other attendees got to see on Wednesday, Haaland says that in February it was between three clubs. He did not rule out continuing in Dortmund at the time, but otherwise it was City and Real Madrid who were the real options.
– It will be great for the whole of Scandinavia and all Norwegians who love English football to see Haaland in City, says Eirik Bakke, who was launched as a new Premier League expert together with, among others, Sigrid Heien Hansen, Tor Ole Skullerud, Steffen Iversen and Pål André Helland.
Fjørtoft has been on countless trips to Germany in recent years. Going forward, the trips will go to England and mainly Manchester for City’s matches.
– I’ll be divorced soon. My role will be quite similar to when Erling was in Dortmund, but English football means even more to Norwegians. And we must be aware of that responsibility, says Fjørtoft.
Kristian Oma is sports manager at Viaplay. He says that the activity is high to get everything in place before the start of the series the first weekend in August, but that they are in control. And they have sky-high ambitions for the product.
At the same time, he promises that top teams will be shown on the open channel.
The channel V4 changes its name to TV3 +. On this channel, one match will be broadcast openly per PL round with one of the “big six” teams. These are Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham.
– It must sit from the start. We will be more in England than we have been before to feel the pulse for real and throughout the week we will cultivate this continuously, says Oma.
He also launched the channels Viaplay, V Sport Premier League and 3+. In addition, individual matches will be shown on the four channels V Sport 1, 2, 3 and 4.
– We also have related to us VG where we will get out all the clips very quickly where people will get to see all the scores. Then we started the podcast, we want to make lots of reports and then Jan Åge has to prepare his wife for the fact that there will be many trips in the years to come with the big star interviews, says Viaplay’s sports manager.
Viaplay also has the rights to the women’s English top series, as well as the men’s league cup, FA cup and Championship.
