Exceptional Sunday Opening for Businesses Affected by Incidents and Public Order Disturbances – July 9th in Côte-d’Or, Saône-et-Loire, Yonne and Nièvre

Businesses affected by the incidents and public order disturbances of June 28 benefit from an exceptional opening this Sunday July 9, an exemption from Sunday rest for the personal equipment sector in the departments of the Côte- d’Or, Saône-et-Loire, Yonne and Nièvre.

In view of the requests presented by the Alliance du Commerce and the federations of the Conseil du Commerce de France, the Prefectures of Côte-d’Or, Saône-et-Loire, Yonne and Nièvre authorize the opening of shops on Sunday July 9th. A decree was issued by the respective prefects of the 4 departments.

Businesses are concerned “clothing and footwear retail, the great shops and popular stores, food and non-food retail outlets, household equipment, toys, perfumery, jewellery, photography, optics, cycles, DIY, home improvement, gardening and The pet shop.”

The prefectures specify that “only voluntary employees” may be required to work and that “each employee deprived of Sunday rest will benefit from the compensation provided for in the company agreement and at least compensatory rest and remuneration at least equal to double the remuneration normally due for a period equivalent in accordance with the provisions of Article L 3132-25-3 of the Labor Code.”
