Students with the highest marks in the world in any subject were awarded.
113 students who participated in the 15th edition of the Outstanding Cambridge Learning Awards received their certificates and prizes, during an official ceremony organized by the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES), at the National Sports Complex of Côte d’Or, on Wednesday July 26.
A ceremony which took place in the presence of Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Deputy Prime Minister (VPM), Minister of Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology.
In her speech, VPM Dookun-Luchoomun noted that the government spends about Rs 20 billion on education. She pointed out that the government believes that education is a fundamental human right that has the power to change society and play a central role in economic and social reforms. “The reforms we have implemented aim to further strengthen our education system and promote the concepts of perseverance and hard work to succeed,” she continued.
It should be noted that the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards aims to reward Mauritian students who have passed the Cambridge O, A and AS levels in 2022, i.e. the School Certificate. The Cambridge Top in the world and Cambridge Top in Mauritius are decorations awarded to students who have obtained the highest mark in the world in any subject. The “High Achievement Award” decoration is awarded to students who have achieved exceptional results in disciplines with low application rates.
