QUÉBEC, Jan. 8, 2021 / CNW Telbec / – The Federation of Quebec School Service Centers (FCSSQ) welcomes the additional measures announced today by the Minister of Education, Jean-François Roberge.

“We know it and it is reiterated by all the partners, we are in an exceptional year requiring exceptional measures. From an educational point of view, we are satisfied with the measures announced, they reflect the concerns and suggestions made by the school service centers in recent weeks. The cancellation of ministerial examinations and the adjustments concerning the report card in particular, are recommendations which the Minister has taken into account. We also welcome the production of a document targeting essential knowledge, an additional tool that will guide teams in schools. Since support for students in difficulty also remains a priority, the school service centers will offer their collaboration in the implementation of tutoring measures ”, stated the President and CEO of the FCSSQ, Mr. Jacky Tremblay.

Air quality: encouraging results

“The results of the tests carried out in December are encouraging for the entire network. As we said at the time, the members of the FCSSQ always make health and safety a priority for students as well as for all staff. Thus, they apply the measures planned to ensure and maintain air quality in establishments. Regarding the upcoming tests in all the schools, the school service centers will ensure their diligent implementation and welcome the confirmation of the reimbursement of expenses related to this operation and the adjustments in the establishments, if there is any. take place, ”he concluded.

The FCSSQ brings together all the French-language school service centers in Quebec as well as the Littoral School Service Center. The school service centers ensure the academic success of more than one million students by providing educational services in elementary, secondary, vocational training and adult education. The FCSSQ offers its members services in labor relations, material and information resources, financing, school transportation, vocational training, educational services for young people and adults, as well as training. Jointly with the MEQ, the FCSSQ coordinates and directs the negotiation of national sectoral matters of collective agreements.
