The winners of the 2021 Excellence in Culture Award will be honored at a live video ceremony today at 6 p.m. This year, the special award for outstanding international achievements will be presented for the eighth time.
Continuing the tradition of entrusting the organization of this event to one of the art colleges every year, the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music has established the Ceremony of Excellence in Culture ceremony this year. The director of the award ceremony is Ināra Sluckka, the main cameraman is Aleksandrs Grebņevs.
Candidates for the award were nominated by institutions under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, sectoral advisory councils, non-governmental organizations and local governments. The submitted applications were evaluated by the Latvian National Council of Culture in accordance with the regulations of the award, and approved by the Minister of Culture.
