Examples of animals Porifera are a phylum in the kingdom animalia. Porifera are also known as sponges.
From the structure of their own bodies, animals that enter the phylum Porifera do not have a backbone or invertebrates and have habitats in the waters.
Generally, Porifera live in waters of moderate depth, which is 8,500 meters or more.

Examples of Porifera Animals, What Are?
Animals belonging to the phylum Porifera are also famous for their spongy bodies. In other words, they have a lot of pores.
The pores in their bodies will form water channels that empties into the body cavity (spongocoel). At the end of the cavity there is a large hole called the osculum.
For clarity, here are some examples of the animals in this philion one.
Sycon
First there is an animal named Sycon which is a genus of calcareous sponges belonging to the Sycettidae family.
These animals live by clinging to rocks, mollusk shells, and also corals in the ocean.
Sycon’s sponges are small in size and can grow up to 7.5 cm in length with a tube shape and are white to cream in color.
Euplectella
This Porifera belongs to the glass genus which includes the species Euplectella aspergillus or ‘Venus Flower Basket’.
Not only marine waters, examples of these Porifera animals can also be found in freshwater waters.

Sponge
This animal is also known as a bath sponge. The genus Spongia belongs to the class Demospongiae phylum Porifera.
For some of these species including Spongia officinalis, humans use it as a cleaning tool. However, most have been replaced with synthetic or plant materials.
This spongia is dark in color, is compressible, spongy, and also elastic.
Leucosolenia
This genus of calcareous sponges in the Leucosoleniidae family has a body shape in the form of a curved vase that has a length of up to 2 cm.
Leucosolenia live in tidal pools and swarm around the bottom of seaweed and rocks. These animals also come in a variety of colors and are usually rather pale.
With a sponge
Next there is Spongilla which is a genus of freshwater sponges. They usually live attached to rocks, sticks, and plants.
There are more than 200 different species of Spongilla and belong to the phylum Porifera, class Demospongiae.
They vary in color from light yellow to green and also have spicules in the dermal layer to provide skeleton and protection.

Clathrina
This animal is a genus of calcareous sponges in the family Clathrinidae. Generally these sponges can be found on rock surfaces at the beach or shallow water.
Clathria sponges are usually white but also gray, pale pink, and orange or sulfur yellow. This example of Porifera has a size of 2-10 cm with a smooth surface and soft consistency. (R10/HR-Online)
