Examining Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo’s Asset Origin: KPK Investigation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it was still examining the State Officials’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) belonging to the Minister of Youth and Sports Here Ariotedjo especially regarding the origin of the assets that are said to originate from prizes.

“Yes, let’s see who the gift was, in what form, how much, when it was given, we’ll see again,” said KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring, Pahala Nainggolan, at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

Pahala said if irregularities were found, his party would report them to the KPK leadership. After that, he said, the leadership would decide where to take the findings.

“The presentation of the LHKPN to the leadership is every two weeks,” he said.

Dito Ariotedjo’s LHKPN report, 4 houses and 1 car were said to be gifts

Dito is known to have deposited LHKPN belongs to the KPK. In the report, Dito has assets of Rp. 282 billion. His wealth consists of a house and a car.

Dito reported that he owns 5 buildings with a total price of IDR 187.5 billion. Of the 5 houses, Dito said that 4 of his houses came from prizes. Meanwhile, 1 house comes from its own results.

The four buildings said to have come from prizes included land and buildings covering an area of ​​3,623 square meters in East Jakarta with a value of IDR 114.1 billion; property with an area of ​​488 square meters at a price of IDR 10 billion; a 346 square meter property in Central Jakarta worth IDR 17.35 billion; and a 382 square meter property in South Jakarta for IDR 20 billion.

Apart from property, Dito also admitted that he had one car that came from a prize, namely the Toyota Alphard. Other assets owned by Dito consist of cash and securities. Dito submitted the LHKPN to the KPK on July 12 2023 or 3 months after being appointed as Menpora.

Dito was dragged into the BTS corruption case

Dito Ariotedjo’s assets were highlighted after his name was linked to a corruption case in the 4G BTS development project at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. A defendant in the BTS corruption case, Irwan Hermansaid Dito received IDR 27 billion.

Irwan stated that he gave money with a total value of Rp. 243 billion to various parties on orders from the Director of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) of Kominfo Anang Achmad Latif. The commissioner of PT Solitech Media Synergy stated that the money was made to dampen the investigation into the BTS corruption case at the Attorney General’s Office and also to avoid being scrutinized by the Indonesian Parliament.

When receiving the money, Dito Ariotedjo was still serving as expert staff to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto. Airlangga is none other than the general chairman of the party Golkar.

Dito was investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) on July 3, 2023. The AGO stated that it had not found sufficient evidence that Dito received the flow of funds as disclosed by Irwan Hermawan.

Irwan’s lawyer, Maqdir Ismail, also stated that there were parties who returned Rp. 27 billion to them. Maqdir has handed over the money to attorney General’s Office last July 13th. Even so, Maqdir did not explain whether the money was a return from Dito Ariotedjo or not.
