Examination of 6208 women within the Maternal and Fetal Health Initiative in Minya

Dr. Muhammad Nadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Minya, announced that 6,208 pregnant women were examined within the activities of the Presidential Initiative to Care for Maternal and Fetal Health, as part of the state’s efforts to pay attention to the public health of citizens and in implementation of the directives of Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, and under the patronage of Major General Osama Al-Qadi, Governor of Minya

Today, Saturday, Nadi added that the initiative aims to examine pregnant women from the first day of pregnancy until birth, with the aim of early detection of many diseases, the most important of which are hepatitis B, syphilis and human immunodeficiency virus, in addition to stress testing and physical measurements of weight and height and measuring Blood sugar level, to prevent the transmission of diseases from mother to fetus.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Khalil, coordinator of presidential initiatives in Minya Governorate, explained that the initiative is taking place in 260 health units and medical centers in all health departments at the level of Minya Governorate through trained medical teams, taking all necessary preventive and precautionary measures, and following infection control methods.
