Ex-US President Donald Trump Found Guilty of Fraud: Latest Updates and Future Plans

A court ruled Tuesday that the ex US President Donald Trump has committed fraud for years, regarding his real estate business, AP reports.

Judge Arthur Engoron, who ruled Tuesday in a civil suit filed by the New York attorney general, found that the former president and his company they have defrauded banks, insurers and others, they have filed falsely yearly financial reportshaving profited from these scams.

The judge rejected Trump’s claim that disclaimers in the financial statements absolved him of any wrongdoing.

The decision, made days before the start of a non-jury trial in Attorney General Letisha James’ case, is the biggest blow yet to Trump’s carefully crafted image as a businessman.

Trial without jury will begin on October 2. James is seeking $250 million in fines and a ban on Trump doing business in New York, his home state. The process could last until December.

Trump’s lawyers had asked the judge to dismiss the case, which he denied. They claim it was not legal for James allowed to file suit because there was no evidence that the public was harmed by Trump’s actions. They also argue that many of the charges in the case are statute-barred.

Trump isn’t worried about going to jail

We recall that there are several lawsuits against Trump and some of them he he was already convicted. He pleaded not guilty to any of the charges.

He was investigated for election interference, illegal storage of classified documents, sexual assault and defamation, and paying a porn star to keep quiet about their relationship.

However, he is the Republican favorite for the 2024 presidential election.

Although he is upright four trials ahead, Trump said he has no nightmares about how he turned out in jail.

Trump said he believed the effective convictions of some of the rioters involved in the storming of the Capitol in early 2021, are unfair.

If he wins in 2024, Trump will not seek a third term. The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution limits presidents to two four-year terms. This decision was reached after former President Franklin Roosevelt was elected to four terms.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to 2020 election charges.

He will not appear in person in Fulton County District Court in Atlanta next week
