Ex-top man of Liège airport who was arrested for corruption free under conditions | Inland

The deprivation of liberty is part of an investigation that was launched after a series of audits that the new management of Nethys had carried out by company auditor Deloitte. The audit of Liège Airport, one of Nethys’ subsidiaries, revealed several serious deficiencies in February 2021.

The report exposed several anomalies between 2017 and 2020. Forty or so possible infringements were identified, in particular concerning the lifestyle and expenses of the former CEO of the airport. Deloitte’s analysts pointed to the total opacity of public procurement, the lack of competition, controversial and expensive consultancy assignments, fictitious jobs and massive internal expense accounts.

Partoune was fired as general manager of Liège airport in early February 2021 for serious mistakes.
