In 2011 Ashley Mattingly († 33) was named Miss März in the US «Playboy». Nine years later, the model makes sad headlines. As «People» reports, Mattingly committed suicide last Thursday.

As her twin brother and sister confirmed to the magazine, a rescue team found the model in his home in Austin, Texas, unresponsive. A friend of the ex-playmat previously called an ambulance because he couldn’t reach Mattingly and was worried, and Mattingly could not be saved. The American left a farewell letter, which her family could not read because the police investigation was still ongoing.

“She worked to overcome her addiction”
“It’s no secret that Ashley struggled with alcohol and drug problems, but she was working to overcome her addiction,” a family statement said. «She will live on in her nieces and nephews, whom she loved so much, and in her twin brother, her two sisters and numerous other family members and friends. We will remember our memories of her and her joy. We are happy to see you again.” Her loved ones hope that Mattingly’s suicide will make others aware that other people may be going through something similar.

After her election as Miss März, Mattingly could not build on her success. In 2012, her boyfriend, the “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison, 39, was arrested for beating her. The TV star was found guilty of domestic violence and had to undergo therapy. In 2016, Mattingly was arrested when she crashed into four parked cars drunk with a golf cart. (klm)
