It all started on Friday with the freshly replaced Tim Knipping (30), who defeated second division Hannover 96 on penalties with SV Sandhausen.

Lower Saxony led 2-0 and 3-2, but the central defender saved Baden in the 86th minute into extra time.

Paul Seguin (28) also brought his club one round further. When FC Schalke 04 won 3-1 at Eintracht Braunschweig, he provided an assist and scored the 2-1 in the 42nd minute. Born in Magdeburg, he is new in the pot, he came from Union Berlin.

In Braunschweig, the disappointment of captain Jannis Nikolaou (30) about the elimination was of course huge.

The same goes for Marcel Franke (30), Philip Heise (32) and Dzenis Burnić (25). The three former Dresdeners in the service of Karlsruher SC were surprisingly eliminated 2-1 at third division 1. FC Saarbrücken. Returnee Patrick Schmidt (29) and his teammates celebrated the winning goal in the 91st minute (Brünker). While Franke, Heise and Schmidt were in the starting XI, Burnic was just on the bench.

Dynamo Dresden Successful weekend: Dynamo youth gets two wins

Ex-Dynamo coach Olaf Janßen (56) created a real sensation with Viktoria Köln. The third division competitor of Dresden caused a big sensation with the 3:2 victory over Werder Bremen.

Goalkeeper Marius Liesegang (23, who has never played a game for Dynamo in six months) lost a game with Teutonia Ottensen in the 0:8 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Robert Andrich (28) came into focus. The Werkself midfielder scored the supposed 8-0 by hand, then honestly conceded a touch and earned a lot of applause from all sides for this great fair play action. The goal was disallowed, but Bayer then made it 8-0.

At Hallesches FC, relatively little was about football on Saturday. A testicular tumor had been discovered in Niklas Kreuzer (30) the day before.

The players around goalkeeper Sven Müller (27) and Niklas Landgraf (27) ran onto the pitch with a special shirt including a message to “Kreuz”. It was obviously difficult for the team to focus on the DFB Cup. When Erich Berko (28) was sent off with a red card shortly before half-time in the 0-1 draw against Greuther Fürth, it was a completely used day for the people of Halle.

Tim Boss (30) and Luca Dürholtz (29) with SV Elversberg also failed to advance to the next round in a 0-1 draw against FSV Mainz 05.

On the other hand, Maximilian Großer (22) from Dresden, who has been under contract with Arminia Bielefeld since this season, was able to celebrate extremely. He even came on as a substitute in the 119th minute and then saw a penalty shoot-out victory over VfL Bochum with captain Anthony “Toto” Losilla (37).

It was similarly dramatic at HSV with Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer (21), who came on as a substitute in the 91st minute, but was able to celebrate the 4:3 after extra time at Rot-Weiss Essen.

Maximilian Arnold (29) moved confidently into the next round with VfL Wolfsburg. There was a 6-0 win at Makkabi Berlin, the midfielder came on as a substitute in the second half.

Mathias Fetsch (34) became a hero in Unterhaching. With his goal, the striker initiated the 2-0 victory of the newly promoted third division team against FC Augsburg.

Lok Leipzig’s game with the two ex-Dresden players Osman Atilgan (24) and Joe Lennard Löwe (19, brother of Dynamo’s team manager Justin Löwe) made inglorious headlines. In the 0:7 against Eintracht Frankfurt, flares from the Leipzig block even flew at wheelchair users, the game had to be stopped again and again, once interrupted for 15 minutes. While Atilgan played a full 90 minutes, Löwe just sat on the bench.

SC Freiburg and captain Vincenzo Grifo (30) struggled against SV Oberachern, but ultimately won 2-0. The German-Italian played through.

FSV Frankfurt narrowly missed the sensation with Noah Awassi (25). The regional league had FC Hansa Rostock on the verge of defeat, it was 1-1 after 120 minutes. But then “Kogge” goalkeeper Markus Kolke saved all three penalties of the Hessians and thus ensured that the team of sports director Kristian Walter (39) progressed.

On Monday evening there was another big sensation. FC 08 Homburg threw the Bundesliga promoted SV Darmstadt 98 out of the cup.

In the 3-0 win, ex-Dynamo Phil Harres (21) put the so-called “lid on” with his goal in the 81st minute. He had only been substituted on 18 minutes earlier. Jannik Müller (29) had to watch the disaster from the bench on the “lilies” side.

Relegated second division Jahn Regensburg with Florian Ballas (30) and Agyemang Diawusie (25) was able to keep up for a while, but in the end the team lost 1:2 to 1. FC Magdeburg with Baris Atik (28) and Ahmet Arslan (29). give up. Arslan came on for Atik in the 81st minute, so his playing time has been manageable so far.

Ex-Dynamo keeper Marvin Schwäbe (28) finished the game with a 3-1 win after extra time at VfL Osnabrück. The goalkeeper even saved a penalty kick, but the margin was in there. Philipp Pentke (38) has been on the bench since this season.

Christian Conteh (23) played 57 minutes for Osnabrück and was only able to watch the elimination from outside at the end.
