Interpol, at the request of the RRB, put on the international wanted list a former deputy and ex-head of Finance and Credit Bank.
The People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the III-VIII convocations and the former owner of the Finance and Credit Bank Konstantin Zhevago was put on the international wanted list. This was announced on Thursday, July 15, by the State Bureau of Investigation.
“On September 27, 2019, the ex-People’s Deputy was informed of the suspicion. He, as the former owner of Bank Finance and Credit JSC, organized the embezzlement of $ 113 million from a financial institution,” the statement said.
According to the RRB, the offshore company controlled by Zhevago opened credit lines in foreign banks, and his bank became a surety. After the offshore company failed to fulfill its contractual obligations, foreign banks collected the pledged property of the guarantor. In particular, creditors wrote off $ 113 million from the correspondent accounts of the Ukrainian bank, after which it was declared bankrupt.
Recall that the State Bureau of Investigation in 2019 put ex-people’s deputy Konstantin Zhevago on the wanted list… He passes by the suspect in the case of embezzlement of 2.5 billion hryvnia Bank Finance and Credit. Also, the ex-People’s Deputy is suspected of declaring false information. It was also reported that Zhevago left Ukraine.
