Julie Houtman (28), the ex of ‘Home’ actor Mathias Vergels, has had to deal with some blows in recent weeks and months. Six months ago there was first the unexpected break with the father of her child, recently the court also decided to postpone the divorce. “Salt was sprinkled in an as yet not healed wound,” she writes in a column in Story this week.

Without realizing it, she had fallen into a dip, Houtman writes. “With the lawsuit in mind, I have had to think about the break with my ex-partner very often in recent weeks,” writes Houtman. “I often wondered where things went wrong and how we could have approached it differently. How I could have handled it differently, because I can’t speak for anyone else. The conclusion was that love is a verb. ”
“A relationship is only strong when both people want to work on it. I don’t blame myself. I have cried and tried, I want to make it work, but without oxygen a flame cannot burn. It has to come from both sides.”
That is precisely why the 28-year-old said it was so difficult that the divorce was postponed by the court. “In recent weeks, salt was occasionally sprinkled into a wound that had not yet healed. In my head I have already been divorced, after six long months I would have liked that piece of paper in my hands. Fortunately, delay is not cancellation. Just a little more patience. ”
