Despite the currently calm weather in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area, meteorologists are warning about the former Hurricane Kirk. Is he taking over the region with all his might?

It will sweep across the country as an extratropical storm. And possibly also in parts of the Rhine-Main area with speeds of up to 130 km/h. And that means “full hurricane force,” as Jung explains. According to the forecasts, it could happen on Thursday (October 10th) and Friday (October 11th).

The German Weather Service (DWD) also announces that it will be uncomfortable in Frankfurt and the surrounding area by the middle of next week. On Wednesday (October 9th) heavy rain and stormy gusts can be expected.
Uncertainties with ex-Hurricane Kirk: How badly will Frankfurt and Rhine-Main be affected?
However, there are still some uncertainties. Some weather models suggest that ex-Hurricane Kirk only touches Germany in the west. Others expect the extratropical storm to be in the center of the country, around Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area. Also climatologist Dr. Karsten Brandt from Donnerwetter.de says to the Bild: „Kirk is also coming to Germany on Thursday. The only question is, where to?”
