Sarah van Soelen, André Hazes’ ex-girlfriend, is speaking for the first time about how their relationship is going. “We decided together, in a face-to-face conversation, to take a break,” she tells Beautiful world. She also tells the magazine that the last few weeks have been a ‘rollercoaster’ and she hopes that in the new year they will get some rest and space to process a few things.

In the interview, Van Soelen seems convinced that the two will eventually get back together. For example, she says: “We don’t know how long that break will last. Dre now lives with his mother. He has a lot on his mind and it’s tough, he’s had a lot to deal with in recent years. He has a lot to process and rest is important. I understand him and I support him. There is no arguing, there is no other involved. Our conversation was difficult, but reasonable. There was no yelling, no dramatic events.”
“Everything is right”
When asked what she likes about him, she answers: “It sounds very cliché, but really everything. “Something must be wrong, right?” I once asked my friends. Believe it or not, but everything is right. We complement each other. He is my best buddy and we are there for each other in good times and bad. Also now.”
She also tries to get rid of the rumor that she has taken Hazes from his ex Monique Westenberg (43) from the world. “New. I met Dré two years ago when he was single. We had a pleasant evening in which we chatted continuously and a friendly bond was formed. Shortly after, he got into a relationship with Bridget (Maasland, ed.) and soon he went back to Monique. Our contact bled to death a bit at the time.”
She adds: “It was only when Monique broke up that Dré contacted my father. He (Van Soelen’s stepfather, ed.) is a well-known figure in Rotterdam and many people see him as a father figure. André asked if he could help him find a house. It did not work. Because we have enough space at home, Dré came to live with us. And yes, one thing led to another.”
