HC Strache admits some mistakes, apologizes to the whores of both sexes. But health problems also bother him.
10 settings and 2 acquittals: Ex-FPÖ boss Heinz-Christian Strache proudly announced this balance sheet these days. Because even in the ASFINAG case there was a swatter for the WKStA. Two cases are still pending. “Without all these procedures, I would have a normal life,” he says wistfully in the “Krone” interview with Conny Bischofberger.
He will have to think about something else for the last two cases because he can no longer afford his current lawyer. The procedural costs now amount to several hundred thousand euros, which are hardly reimbursed even in the event of an acquittal. Unfortunately, in politics, the method of anonymously reporting people who are intended to harm has gained the upper hand, the former politician complains.
An apology
But Strache himself has apparently also made mistakes in the past. He readily retracts calling journalists “the biggest whores on the planet”; it was wrong. “By the way, I also have to apologize to the whores,” he said with a laugh in the “Kronen Zeitung”.
Looking back, another mistake was his resignation. He took this step to save the government. “That promise was not kept.” At that point he lost all control of his life. Since Corona, he has been trying to gain a foothold again as a sole proprietor in the management consulting segment. Even if he can now make a living from it, he has debts.

There has not yet been an acquittal in the expenses affair, in which there have recently been some explosive revelations (more on this here). Strache even announces “a few surprises” here, which he cannot talk about yet. The relationship with his former party is generally quite tarnished. He has not even had any contact with Herbert Kickl since July 2019.
He is not thinking about a possible comeback at the moment, he would rather be there for his children. Health probably also plays a role: “I currently have a herniated disc, which certainly also has psychosomatic causes. I have a feeling of numbness in my right arm, which goes from the cervical vertebra to the thumb. My principle has always been: never give up! But at some point your body will tell you that it’s just too much.”
