Like the portal “Goumetwelten“Reports, the former Dorint board and co-founder of the opera gala for the German AIDS Foundation Alfred Weiss died unexpectedly from a heart attack on Maundy Thursday in a Berlin hospital. Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Weiss was head of the Intercontinental Hotel and later board member of various hotel groups. He ran his own hotel in Villach, Austria.
Alfred Weiss was the father of Manuel Neuer’s wife Nina, whom the Bayern goalkeeper had married in 2017 and from whom he now lives separately.
In 1994 he and others started the annual gala, which last took place on November 2, 2019 with more than 2,000 guests. The initiators Dr. Alard von Rohr and Alfred Weiss were delighted with a net proceeds of 320,000 euros, which again made a major contribution to the fight against HIV and AIDS.
The festive opera gala is one of the most important charity events in favor of the German AIDS Foundation and is an integral part of the event calendar in the capital. “The tirelessly active, well-deserved initiators of the festive opera gala Alfred Weiss and Dr. Alard von Rohr enables the German AIDS Foundation to master its important tasks.
