Kilian Zierer played in the U19 for the Allgäu Comets from Kempten – after that he went to the USA. Will the man from Munich even make the leap into the NFL?
Kilian Zierer may have a career in the National Football League (NFL). The Munich native is well on the way to making it into the elite class of American football – after all, the 22-year-old is now playing for the Auburn Tigers in the American college league.
Should Zierer really make the leap to an NFL team, then the Allgäu Comets will also have their merits. In 2018 Zierer played for the U19 team of the Komets and narrowly missed the Bavarian championship title against the Kirchdorf Wildcats (20:23). There he was used as a tight end on the offensive, at the college in Auburn (US state Alabama) Zierer has now found his place as an offensive lineman.

In the meantime, Zierer has put on some weight and thanks to his athleticism he has become part of the college team. “Athletic tackles are in demand,” says Werner. Zierer’s enthusiasm for football began seven years ago while on vacation in the USA. Before his season in Kempten, Zierer played for the Munich Cowboys, in 2018 he ventured to the USA and initially played for the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita (California).
