The move to America paid off for Marco Reus in terms of sport (and also financially). At the Los Angeles Galaxy he ended up with one of the top teams in the league. After Inter Miami‘s elimination, the ex-Dortmunder and his teammates are the biggest favorites for the title (read more about it here).
But off the pitch he has to deal with completely different problems in his new home. In a podcast, Marco Reus spoke about looking for an apartment in the metropolis. And that brought a bad story to light.
Marco Reus chats about horror history
It’s no secret that the midfielder can afford villas on his football salary that a normal citizen would have to work for two lifetimes. And in LA in particular there are quite a few luxury buildings, if you have the necessary change. And with two small children, your search for an apartment needs to be carefully considered anyway.

And Marco Reus and his wife experienced a strange story. The 35-year-old now reports about it in the “Paul Ribke Podcast”. The couple had two properties on their shortlist, but ultimately decided on the ex-Dortmunder’s favorite.
So a viewing appointment was arranged. And all sorts of bizarre stories came to the table. A neighbor from the area described the house as “the only house in the community that is a horror house.” When it comes to the other details, he may not be entirely wrong.
Drugs, FBI, arrests
The Reus emigrant family noticed that the garage doors and windows had already been broken in. The story sounds like something from a bad series. Reus reports that the house was probably occupied by a drug dealer. “That’s when things really took off,” describes the former national player.
“The FBI was already in the house with dozens of people,” the neighbor told them. And wife Scarlett adds: “And before that someone was killed in front of the house and then five guys moved in and were laundering money.”

There were then break-ins before the FBI stormed the property not long ago and arrested a few people. Unsurprisingly, Marco Reus and his wife ultimately decided on another house just outside of Los Angeles.
