This is one of two teams that have been scouring the entire city today to deal with the major accident
Tens of thousands in Burgas were left without electricity this evening after a severe accident in the EVN network, which the company was unable to deal with quickly. For more than 4 hours in the dark and cold were the “Sarafovo” district, as well as a part of the “Vazrazhdane” residential complex and the CGCH.
Shortly before 11 p.m., the last “dark” areas were lit up, and a reporter team of Flagman.bg saw one of the emergency teams in the “Vazrazhdane” railway station, who were just fixing another local problem caused by the power outage.
Throughout the evening, EVN claimed on their hotline that they have engaged all their available teams and are working at maximum capacity to resolve the issue.
Krum Kosev from the “Communications” department was also categorical to Flagman.bg that they are doing everything possible to solve the problem in the shortest possible time.
However, it turned out that EVN left the huge accident in Burgas to only four poor technicians. Two of them admitted this to our reporter. They literally couldn’t catch their breath and were crawling all over the substations.
“It’s just the two of us and one other team. That’s who we are. There are no other”they said, hurrying to the next address.
The (semi)official information about the unprecedented blackout, uncharacteristic of the 21st century, is a problem in one of the substations.
Whether this is due to increased consumption as the temperatures were indeed quite cold today is anyone’s guess.
Krum Kosev promised Flagman.bg tomorrow to give detailed information about the type of accident and the measures they have taken.
Flagman.bg also contacted the public mediator of Burgas Todor Stamboliev, who tomorrow will explain what are the ways to seek your rights in similar situations – whether to file a complaint with EVN or directly with the Commission for Water and Energy Regulation.
We will also try to find an answer to the question of why the problem with the electricity supply in Sarafovo quarter has not been fundamentally resolved, after the senior management team of EVN arrived in Burgas in the summer and announced that the accidents in the sea district are history after they have made a huge investment.
