Evil Geniuses has been facing a fair amount of criticism lately, as the esports organization has dropped its collection of rosters, leaving fans outraged. Amid this turmoil, Evil Geniuses CEO Nicole LaPointe announced she would be stepping down as the team’s top job.
“Following the most epic weekend of EG Hyundai, I find it very bittersweet to share my news today that I will be stepping down as CEO of Evil Geniuses,”LaPointe said.
“The decision wasn’t easy for me, but winning the VCT World Championship the way EG did – fairness through merit, inclusivity in infrastructure, and going against scrappy believers perfectly sums up what we’ve been trying to do for esports. because of that, I know I can walk away with my head held high and my heart full of what’s to come.
LaPointe has already commented on what’s next for the Evil Geniuses CEO, adding: “While I may be leaving, you can rest assured that EG is in the hands of those who have and will continue to take what we started into the next evolution of Evil Genius. EG will continue to be the gateway to a more diverse and fair game As a lighthouse in the future, I look forward to continuing to amplify and support from afar.
