SPACE — Explorer or rover The American Space Agency’s Perseverance (NASA) investigates a region of Mars called the Jezero Crater. Scientists suspect that the Jezero Crater contains evidence of the existence of water on Mars in the past.
The Perseverance rover made it to Mars on February 18, 2021. Now, from the results of the Perseverance probe, scientists may have seen evidence of the existence of rivers on Mars in large numbers.
Perseverance found the formation of curved rock marks made of larger, coarser sediments. This formation indicates a strong water flow in the past

“The formation represents a high-energy river that picks up and carries a lot of debris. The stronger the water flow, the easier it is to move larger pieces of material,” said Libby Ives, researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Mashable.
Scientists have previously seen this curved shape from space. The Perseverance cruiser, which is about the size of a car and has six wheels equipped with various instruments, allows a close look at these features.
The mosaic image shows an area of Mars consisting of 203 images stitched together. The indentations may originate from shifting riverbanks, or perhaps sandbars cut by billions of years of wind-driven blasting of sand.
Now, scientists are wondering what these waterways would have looked like when Mars was a warmer, bluer planet, not the barren planet as it is known today. Scientists are now debating the type of fast-flowing water that forms that curve.
