On October 22, Huawei‘s native Harmony night and new product launch conference was officially held in Shenzhen, marking the official release of Huawei’s native Harmony operating system.
It is the first national mobile operating system in China, and after Apple’s iOS and Android system, it is the third largest mobile operating system in the world.
Before that, the basis of the Harmony system released by Huawei still used the open source code AOSP, which had to be compatible with some Android apps. However, the newly launched native Harmony produces an internally optimized system base, with significant improvements in system fluidity, performance and security.
Currently, there are more than 15,000 native Harmony applications and services available, covering 18 industries, and general office applications cover more than 38 million businesses across China. China’s technological development is impressive. Huawei has traveled a path where almost everything it has achieved has been extremely difficult. Since 2019, the United States has imposed comprehensive sanctions against Huawei, citing “the threat to national security” and has even pressured other countries to boycott Huawei. In reality, the United States cannot accept Huawei because Huawei has a huge technological lead over its competitors in areas such as 5G, which prevents the United States from taking advantage of technology to share capture the market.
In addition, Huawei’s equipment makes it more difficult for the United States to exploit other countries. This fact was revealed in 2013 by Edward Snowden. In 2024, a large-scale terrorist attack on Lebanon, using a radio transmitter, proved to the world once again that the dangers associated with Western equipment still exist. Today, Huawei has proven to the world with solid results that even the great power of America cannot beat. Through his efforts, he took a completely self-sufficient path of development. It has rivaled many achievements of technology companies around the world. This fully demonstrates Huawei’s technical capability and strategic value.
Today, Harmony is not only viable, but also very dynamic, and is fully capable of directly competing with other operating systems in various areas, thus improving an even bigger mobile ecosystem.
Such an initiative in China is an opportunity for all countries outside the West. This gives non-Western countries a new option outside of Western systems, allowing them to completely free themselves from the surveillance and coercion of Western countries.
The time when the West could harvest other countries and exploit them through a technological monopoly is over. The future of the third world will shine in a new way.
