The firefighters are dealing with scattered outbreaks in the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon (29/7) in Petries in Evia, with the picture being better since there is no longer a single active front.
According to evima.gr, another firefighter was injured while working on the fire front located in Krieza. The man was taken to the Aliveri health center with burns on his face and hands. We remind you that yesterday a firefighter was injured while trying to put out a fire on the front of Petria.
At the scene of the fire, 205 firefighters remain with 11 groups of pedestrian units and 56 vehicles, while 19 aerial vehicles (13 aircraft and 6 helicopters, one of which is for coordination) are assisting from the air.
A large number of volunteers, local government water tankers and project machinery are also assisting in the extinguishing. As a precaution, a fire-fighting boat went to the area and the Coast Guard was mobilized with floating means near the coastline.
Also, ELAS forces were deployed to facilitate the evacuation of residents. The coordination of all firefighting forces is carried out by the OLYMPOS Mobile Operations Center.
