everything you need to know to vote

Initially scheduled for March, regional and departmental elections were postponed to June 20 and 27 due to the health crisis. Lyoncapitale.fr gives you a summary of its articles on the subject to vote today.

The polling stations have opened since 8 hours for the regional and departmental elections in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It will therefore be necessary to vote twice, except for the Métropole de Lyon. Metropolitan voters will vote only for regional elections, because the metropolitan council, which replaces the department, has already been elected in 2020.

To vote, you must go to the polling station in which you are registered, with proof of identity. If in doubt, you can find it on your electoral card or on service-public.fr.

To follow the election evening with the candidates and the election results, LyonCapitale.fr will start a live in the early evening to inform you live.

How elections work

Lyon Capital has devoted several articles to the conduct of regional elections: voting method, assessors, abstention, circulation of the virus … here is a selection of articles to understand the operation and the context of this election. The eyes will in particular be riveted on the abstention figures.

Applicant programs

Since several weeks, Lyon Capital scans the programs of the candidates. Theme by theme, here is a comparison between the candidates’ proposals.

It’s also always time to get our 50-page special issue on regional elections, available on newsstands.

Our interviews with candidates

Our program, 6 minutes flat, was the opportunity to meet the several leaders of the regional elections and to question them about their programs.

Alongside these lists are also presented:

  • Laurent Wauquiez (LR) currently president of the region
  • Chantal Gomez for Lutte Ouvrière
  • Shella Gil who defends the Essential Union citizen list
  • Farid Omeir of the Union of French Muslim Democrats
