2022 is not over and we are already thinking about next year’s events. The Oscars 2023, The 95th gala of this special awards ceremony arrives loaded with headlines and top-notch actors eager to take home a statuette. Here we run through the possible nominees, the titles they’re stomping, and the date of cinema’s most anticipated night.
After the incident with Will Smith and Chris Rock in the last installment, this new edition should arrive to remove the tension that was left in the air between the actors and the presenters. And while the gala is still months away, the favorites for the nominations are already starting to appear.
The public is anxious and wants to know which titles it has to catch up with before the award ceremony. Steven Spielberg’s new film, ‘The Fabelmans’ is looking strong, especially after taking home the Audience Award at the Toronto Film Festival. ‘Elvis’ by Baz Luhrmann, which has already been released in theaters, also causes a sensation.
The ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, who has already done so in the 2017 and 2018 editions, earning himself a third opportunity for his great work. With a scandal like the one at the previous gala, it’s best to call someone you trust.
Oscars 2023, all the details
Like previous years, the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles will witness a night full of stars. For months, the organizers have been deciding on the structure of the gala, the ideal presenter and if, once again, some awards will take place during the red carpet, remaining out of the eyes of the general public.
The Oscar nominations come to us on January 24, 2023, with the ceremony on March 12 of the same year. More than enough time for movie lovers to see the movies that haven’t arrived till then.
Voting for nominations by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences begins January 12 and closes January 17. On December 21, we learned about the Best International Film list and possible nominees for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. We are waiting for the official list of this new gala.
