Everything ready for A Magical Night – – 2024-03-16 08:41:17

The National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES) is pleased to announce the Una Noche Mágica event, which will serve as a tribute to the greatest exponent of soccer in El Salvador, Jorge “El Mágico” González, as well as the inauguration of the museum in its honor and the National Stadium that bears his name after the renovations recently carried out at the sports venue.

At the press conference, held this Wednesday, the ad honorem president of INDES, Yamil Bukele, was present; the legendary former soccer player and honoree, Jorge “El Mágico” González; José Mata, deputy to the presidency and responsible for the member control area of Cádiz CF; and Humberto Sáenz Marinero, president of the FESFUT Regularization Commission.

During the event, all the details of the stadium’s opening ceremony were revealed, which is scheduled for May 30 at 7:00 pm The main event of this historic night will be a friendly match between the Cádiz Club de Soccer and the National Team of El Salvador.

“I believe that there is no better way to honor and dignify a person than to do so in life. Jorge has given a lot to this country and I think he does not measure everything that he has given to El Salvador, being one hundred percent original and as an institution and government we want to honor that with Una Noche Mágica,” commented Yamil Bukele.

“I feel very grateful to Diosito and, of course, to those who are making the event possible. I hope everything is going to be for the best. For those of us who like soccer, I think it’s going to be positive, with a double z,” said Jorge González.

Additionally, in an evening prior to the main game, on May 29 at 6:00 pm, the museum will be inaugurated in honor of Jorge “El Mágico” González, accompanied by the screening of a documentary that highlights the highlights of his career. This museum will be a space in which photographs will be exhibited, some unpublished, belongings of the player, memories of his sports career and a soccer theme that will captivate all visitors.

“Jorge, as a person, his stadium, has to become an additional reason to visit El Salvador, we have our history like other great stages worldwide, that history is largely Jorge,” Bukele commented.

It was also confirmed that during their stay on Salvadoran soil, the Spanish team will develop a recreational and social activity in collaboration with the students who make up the six levels of the Jorge “El Mágico” González Foundation (Fundamágico) football academy.

“The people of Cadiz continue to remember the Magic as something present. I think Mágico is a world reference because of his class on the field, but also because of his class as a person and that immense simplicity, he is a wonderful person. For us it is an honor to come to that game to pay tribute to him,” said José Mata.

“Una Noche Mágica” promises to be a memorable event that will celebrate the career and legacy of El Salvador’s greatest soccer player, while marking a milestone in the history of national sports with the reopening of the Jorge “El Mágico” González National Stadium, as an infrastructure legacy of the past Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023.

As the president of INDES had already announced, entry to the game between the Salvadoran team and the Andalusian team will be free. Later you will be informed about the process to purchase tickets.
