Everything is ready for Christmas of Stars, the inauguration is set for 5pm this Saturday 30 November in Piazza della Repubblica. The choirs of children from the Cortona schools will open the show and will perform Christmas carols on the steps of the Town Hall, followed by the moment of Christmas laser musical show with special effects and artificial snow in the square (two shows are scheduled at 5.30pm and 6.30pm, in between the plays of light will be turned on on the facades of the buildings (this year the dedication is to San Francesco), the lights of the historic center and the Christmas tree. The craft markets in Piazza Signorelli and the gastronomic markets in Piazza Garibaldi are also open, where the carousel will be in operation.
The novelty of this edition is represented by Santa Claus Virtual Express, a magical train with free admission which is located in Palazzo Ferretti (via Nazionale). When children get on board they will find themselves in an immersive environment and will “travel” through enchanted landscapes to Santa Claus’s house.
For fans of vintage toys and model makingthe appointment will be Saturday 7 December at 5pm at the Sant’Agostino convention center where an exhibition full of collectibles will be inaugurated.
