Director Laura Groza has staged a tragicomedy by contemporary British author Nina Rhine Consent, which will be available from August 12. “The show is a strong testament to the relationship of this era. It reflects an everyday life that is rich in external events, but internally embodies a strong sense of drafts. A show about a world where everyone talks but no one listens,” says Laura Groza.

August 10 and 11 in the concert cycle The canon of art to Beauty of the garden actor Juris Bartkevičs, actress Ieva Segliņa and composer and pianist Plato Buravickis, who is familiar to listeners with modern improvisation and interplay of various music genres. Accompanied by piano and electronic music improvisations by Plato Buravickis, Juris Bartkevičs will invite Jānis Rokpeļņš and his alter ego The grotesque canals of the Channel Islands in an ironic and witty world of words. Under the direction of choreographer Jana Jacuka, actress Ieva Segliņa will bring the poetry of Jānis Rokpeļnis to life.
Juris Bartkevičs says: “When we got together for rehearsals, we intuitively found ourselves on a rather hooligan path. I perceive and feel from his writing personally and then I release those verses more freely.
Composer and pianist Plato Buravicki adds: “This will not be a concert performance after which the notes can be placed on the library shelf, it is a tried and tested improvisation as an interplay of impulses, which is the main means of expression. Ieva Segliņa, who will complement it with movement. ”
The canon of art is a series of seven concerts as part of the theatre’s centenary celebrations, inviting spectators Beauty in the garden, accompanied by pianists, to delve into the world of poetry and art, the center of which is the main value of the Daile canon – the outstanding actors of the Daile Theater.
