Everyone in Minecraft builds, he destroys. It took him five years to destroy the entire map

From time to time on our site we will show you some impressive buildings in Minecraft, which skilled players have spent thousands of hours building. Just last month it was a bone copy of Hogwarts (our article), we previously offered, for example, Tolkien’s Middle-earth (our article), a copy of the ruins of the historic castle of Corfe (our article) or perhaps a fictional city the size of Los Angeles (our article).

Most players in Minecraft build, YouTuber Minthical destroy.

Of course, not everyone has an understanding for such entertainment, because some only see it as a waste of time. However, most people in our country have an understanding for such enthusiastic activities, even if their result is purely virtual and bread will not be cheaper thanks to them. Entertainment is also necessary in human life.

However, it is much more difficult to understand the motivation of a player who appears on the Internet with the nickname of Minthical. Unlike the aforementioned projects, he does not create anything, but rather destroys it. It has set itself the goal of “dismantling” the entire Minecraft map and breaking every single block of which it is composed.

Sure, the act of destruction as a symbol of defiance is as old as humanity itself, but Minthical gives no clue as to how to perceive his project called Bedrock Massacre. He is even more passionate about it.

Yes, from the pictures, the result of thousands of hours of work doesn’t look very impressive.

The well-known rule that it is much easier to destroy than to build holds true at best in the case of Minecraft in terms of intellectual needs. The demolition itself takes a long time.

At first, Minthical’s map had about forty-seven million separate cubes, each of which had to be drawn individually. To make things not too easy, she has embarked on destruction in the so-called Survivor mode, which means that her avatar is threatened by monsters and plagued with hunger and thirst. In addition, you must also beware of the work tools, which are constantly subject to destruction: it is said that you have disposed of over five thousand picks in total.

And that’s not the only impressive number. Minthical is playing the PS4 version of the game, which has already clocked up more than ten thousand hours of gameplay. At the same time, she records his playback on YouTube, his videos total about two thousand hours. I accidentally clicked on some of them and it’s not much fun. No wonder he didn’t get more than fifty followers in the first two years. Today he already has forty-five thousand, which only assures him of the significance of the project.

And why is Minthical doing this? In one of the videos, he somehow pathetically states that he’s not only “building his legacy” in this way, but he’s even “helping others build their own legacy that will be visible for many years.” He perceives criticism and ridicule from people outside the community, but disagrees that it is a waste of time. It is said that those who don’t play Minecraft don’t understand that after completing the project, people will remember his name (or rather, the internet nickname) forever. However, to defend himself a little, he says he has a full time job and doesn’t stream every day, only every other day, sometimes he even takes a longer break.

And what will he do when his work is finally done, which should be next month? It will start on a new map: Bedrock Massacre is rumored to be just the first part of the planned “dimensional massacre” trilogy.
