Is perfect cleanliness and disinfection evil?
“To prevent diseases in the house, it is necessary to maintain perfect cleanliness and disinfection” – this statement is nothing more than an attempt to mindlessly follow aggressive advertising that suggests keeping the house perfectly clean with various care products that “kill up to 99.9% of known germs “.
Meanwhile, “surgical sterility” at home contributes to the weakening of the immune system, which does not receive enough “training” of its protective functions. This is especially true for children – if everything around them is sterile, then in the future their untrained immunity may not be able to cope even with banal infections.
In addition, excessive disinfection causes allergic diseases. The most common are allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis.
And finally – “a holy place is never empty.” In a disinfected room, instead of dead harmful and harmless microorganisms, mold fungi appear, growing in places that are best treated by various means: in the bathroom, in the kitchen, etc.
That’s why it is enough to maintain a reasonable and comfortable level of cleanliness in the house without turning your home into an operating room. After all, it is almost impossible to completely get rid of microorganisms. But you can always keep your house in order without excessive disinfection.
