(PressFire.no): It was a few years ago that rumors of a sequel to the launch game “1-2 Switch” started swirling, and not because the game was particularly wanted by the fans.
The original game sold well, but has been heavily criticized for being just a collection of half-assed mini-games that tend to last only a few seconds.
The sequel was supposed to according to an article written by gaming journalist Imran Khan being heavily inspired by the “Jackbox Party Pack” games, and once again being a collection of trivia. Khan, however, was unsure if the game would ever be announced, thanks to strong discontent within Nintendo against the project.
But Nintendo has now announced the “Everybody 1-2 Switch”, which allows players to play against each other either using controllers or smartphones – and the game is due out as early as June 30.
Kahn’s original article, however, contained more than just rumors that the game existed: The game is said to have been so bad that internal testers at Nintendo trooped up to the management and said that the game should simply never be released – and that Nintendo’s good reputation as a developer would be damaged if it did did it.
The mini-games are said to have been so boring that the game testers couldn’t bear to finish whole rounds, and the testers started calling the main character in the game – a man with a horse mask – “horseshit”.
The game was originally intended to be full price, but it seems that the management has at least given in there: The game has a suggested price of 30 dollars.
