Nationalgeographic.co.id-All Theory or objects in universe consists of atomatom. No matter how big, small, young or old Theory that.

If everything was made of atom, can we know how much atom which is in universe?

For starters, let’s examine our bodies. In the human body, on average there are about 7 octillion or 7×10^27 (7 followed by 27 zeros) atom, according to The Guardian.

Knowing that the number atom in one person alone is already so large, you may think it is impossible to determine how many atom in the whole universe. And you’re right: Because we don’t know how big the whole is universe, we can’t know how much atom in it.

However, it is actually possible for us to roughly calculate how much atom of universe observable —part of universe that we can see and study—by using some cosmological assumptions and a few mathematics.
